GARMENT CARE

We believe that a knit should last a lifetime; here is our essential guide to caring for your knitwear.

CASHMERE & MERINO WOOL

Cashmere and merino wool are materials that we currently use the most in our pieces. They both are long-lasting natural materials that you will be able to wear for years and years forward if you take good care of them.

By following our care instructions below, we will guide you through how to wash, dry and store your merino wool & cashmere pieces in the best possible way.

WASHING

It is helpful to remember that merino wool and cashmere are hairs and just like our own hair, they are nourished, protected and strengthened by water and the washing process.

The best way to protect and care for your jumper is to hand wash it carefully and not very often. We wash our knitwear once a year. The rest of the time we air dry or spot clean.

DRYING

Always let your cashmere & merino wool pieces dry on a flat surface after washing, preferably on a towel. By drying them flat you ensure that the pieces keep their shape. By hanging them dry they might stretch and loose their form. Never tumble dry, it will shrink the pieces.

Please also be mindful of putting a washed knit near or down on a basin or surface that might have recently been wiped with bleach. Bleach products can cause staining, yellowing and discolouration, especially on natural fibres.

MAINTENANCE

It is natural for cashmere and merino wool pieces to pill, especially when the pieces are new or in heavy use. Pilling is most often seen in areas exposed to friction. You can easily remove the pilling with a special lint remover machine or a velvet brush. After washing and wearing your pieces a few times the pilling tends to decrease.

To keep your cashmere and merino wool pieces smooth and fresh steam them when needed. We recommend steaming after removing the pilling.

STORAGE

The best way to store your cashmere & merino wool pieces is by folding them flat on a shelf or in a drawer. Always avoid hanging them on hangers as it it might stretch the garment causing it to lose its shape. Also keep in mind to not store your knits too tightly as it may cause wrinkles on them.

Every product we release is thoughtfully designed with the highest quality materials and lays the foundation for effortless, year-round styling, season after season.

  • Lukewarm water

  • Non-bio detergent and a small addition of hair conditioner will help to restore softness and lustre

  • Submerge & lather

  • Gently wring out (but do not twist) excess water. Never be tempted to spin a jumper in a machine, this is where most shrinkage occurs

  • Lie flat on a clean surface to dry. Do not hang or drape, the weight of the water will distort the shape of the knit

  • Iron if necessary, on a cool setting, using a handkerchief.

Sunlight is a natural antibacterial agent. Leaving your clothes in the sun for a short time can have them smelling as fresh as new.
